    Responsibilities

    Regional Director of Business Development is responsible for driving the expansion of service delivery in the assigned territory. The individual selected will cultivate relationships with existing and future customer facilities through the entire sales cycle.  Understand Deer Oaks momentum in the assigned region and understand challenges the company faces in the region related to market saturation, behavioral health awareness, and payer source support of behavioral health services and identify strategies to overcome barriers to expansion success.  The Regional Director of Business Development will reports the Chief Growth Officer and works in conjunction with other Deer Oaks leadership in the broader region to successfully expand multiple service lines and build market share and greater momentum.  The broader team includes account management, regional operations, and most importantly, clinical management. 

    Essential Position Responsibilities: The following are intended to be examples of the accountabilities for which the person in this position is responsible.     New business development/Regional Planning:

    • Develops and spearheads strategic expansion plan and marketing strategy for the region. Communicates plan to broader team.
    • Looks to usher in full service delivery to key markets including psychology, psychiatric medication management and expand telemedicine services where possible.
    • Responsible for helping to establish and achieving regional goals related to new development.
    • Cold call, email, conduct face to face sales presentation to identify and nurture high volume sales pipeline through facility contracting stage.
    • Ability to prospect, sell, negotiate and close a large volume of new contracted facilities.
    • Aggressively purse targeted accounts with a focus on increasing market share.
    • Works with regional account manager and/or operations manager to tie in new business with existing accounts to broaden scope and depth of service delivery.
    • Networks within long-term care trade shows, mental health facilities, and local associations which generate business for the company.
    • Participates in the development of position requisitions to staff new business.
    • Coordinates development efforts with account management team to look at expansion of dual service delivery in existing customer accounts.
    • Utilize CRM Salesforce platform to promote detailed sales tracking and data reporting.

    Customer Focus Activities:

    • May receive and respond to calls from client facilities’ staff and families, triage/problem-solve any issues.
    • Interface with the Administrator, Director of Nursing services and the Director of Social Services to understand their needs and identify how Deer Oaks can meet their needs through contracted services.
    • Attend regional facility meetings, to develop key regional relationships within corporate chains.

    Clinical Leadership Support Activities:

    • Communicate and enforce company policies within the region.
    • Defer to clinical leadership to address clinical related concerns that may arise.
    • Coordinate efforts to provide team building and support for Deer Oaks clinicians.
    • Attend related functions or conference calls to respond to administrative concerns.
    • Familiarity of clinical team placement is essential.
    • May assist with hiring, orientation to support the broader team for the region.

    Corporate to Field Communication:

    • Communicate openly with Executive Management regarding significant issues/concerns.
    • Collaborate with Executive Management on reviewing, revising and developing new contracts with facilities and professionals.
    • Perform duties as a senior manager in a manner that exemplifies solid leadership skills, ethical practices, and supports the mission and directives of Deer Oaks.
    • Work in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and Regional Operations Manager to identify opportunities for further expansion with existing team members.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years sales experience in a long-term care setting. Preferably selling contracted services to SNF, ALF, or CCRC communities.
    • CRM experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to work remotely and operate in self-motivated professional environment.
    • Organized with strong attention to detail
    • Leadership - Demonstrates ability to lead people and get results through others.
    • Management- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
    • Financial Knowledge- Demonstrates ability to read and understand financial statements as well as a general understanding of basic financial principles.  
    • Excellent interpersonal and Communication skills – Speaks to others to convey information effectively. Listens to team members and customers to understand needs in the region.
    • Ability for frequent travel within defined multi-state geographic territory.
